April

April saw the Jubilant and our instructors take part in the Tudor Pull, a 25 mile row from Hampton Court to the Tower of London. As this was our first row of the year there were quite few aching limbs by the end if it! The Jubilant crew were escorted into the Tower of London along with the Royal Watermen to take part in the ceremony of the handing over of the Stela. This is a piece of medieval water pipe made from a hollowed tree trunk which stands on a base of timber from the old Richmond Lock and which bears the coat of arms of the Waterman's Company.

March

We have a new boat! The Brynhild was found rotting away out of the water at TYM until she was rescued by Vic and then restored by Mark Edwards and his team. Launched on the 2nd March she was given a quick workout by some members of the Jubilant crew before being passed fit for use. More pictures of the day can be found in the Gallery and more details about her under Our Boats.

The Jubliant is again out of the water at 3rd Osterley Sea Scouts for some fairly extensive restoration work. She should be back in the water in early April.
